Paul Schoenfeld, PhD, a Behavioral Health specialist with The Everett Clinic discusses ADHD in children. ADHD can be very challenging for parents with children who have been diagnosed. ADHD is the inability to control your impulses when involved in a low interest or low satisfaction task. Parents sometimes have a hard time understanding why their child can play video games for hours, but has trouble completing their homework. ADHD is not laziness, it has to do with the bio-chemical differences that occur in children with ADHD. Behavior therapy and medication combined can be the most effective treatment option.
