Don’t forget your sunglasses
Most people know the importance of applying sunscreen daily, but did you know that sunglasses are as just as important to protect our eyes? Sunglasses’ most important job is to help protect our eyes from the sun’s harsh ultraviolet (UV) rays.
Sun exposure has been linked with:
A clouding of the normally clear lens of the eye.
Damage to the retina that can cause blindness.
Pinguecula and Pterygium.
A growth that starts on the clear tissues of the eye that can spread to the cornea.
Have fun in the sun and choose sunglasses that block out 100% of both UVA and UVB radiation. Don’t forget the added protection of a hat.
