Here on New Day Northwest, we're proud to spotlight people working to break the stigma of mental illness and help those who are struggling to get the help and support they need to work through their challenges. The Everett Silvertips and The Everett Clinic Center for Behavioral Health teamed up to launch a program called "Love to Cheer," aimed at starting conversations about mental health issues, as well as offer free game tickets as a respite from everyday challenges.
Former Silvertips Captain and current Assistant Coach Mitch Love created the concept behind "Love to Cheer" last year, after learning that good friend and longtime season ticket holder John Dickey had taken his own life. Mitch and James Dauer, a mental health counselor at The Everett Clinic for Behavioral Health, joined Margaret to talk more about the "Love to Cheer" campaign and what it entails.
