The thyroid hormone is involved in all aspects of how the body works including normal daily function. Thyroid nodules are common and many people have them without realizing it or having any symptoms. Thyroid nodules are benign 95% of the time. For the 5% that are malignant, they usually very slow growing and non-aggressive form of cancer which can often be cured through surgery. Any thyroid nodule should be examined and looked at by a medical professional.
